The Pale Mountains really come into their own with vivid colours at sunset and delicate early morning hues. This is why spending the night at Rifugio Scoiattoli, directly opposite the legendary 5 Torri, is an unforgettable experience. Built in 1969 by the mountain guide Lorenzo Lorenzi, even today the hut is still run by the same family.
The mountain hut is located right next to pistes and close to the open-air First World War museum where you can explore the restored trenches and military positions.
If you’re after a slightly different sort of evening, the Lorenzi family can organise an illuminated chair-lift ride up to the hut followed by a typical dinner and descent on foot or by snowmobile. If you wish for something more romantic, sip champagne while bathing in the wooden barrel,. The water you relax in is heated constantly by a wood-burning stove which enable you to enjoy a truly different open-air experience. Rifugio Scoiattoli can be reached easily either on foot or via the Cinque Torri chairlift.
